I read the other thread regarding JP's comment to the Las Vegas Sun. But this is what I found.
He tells the Las Vegas Sun, "Steven quit as far as I can tell. I don't know any more than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don't know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don't know."
Perry claims the discord in the band is down to Tyler's lack of communication, including his failure to return phone calls: "He's notorious for that. That's one thing I've learned to live with. I try to overlook it. I like to pick my battles.
"Frankly, the last few months I've been wanting not to rock the boat. I don't want him cancelling any more gigs. We really wanted to do these last four. We just kind of didn't want to call him out or anything and get him anymore p**sed off, for whatever reason. So we just let things lie. So we did the gigs and, like I said, I got off the plane and saw this online. That's how I know about it... He has had no contact with me or the other band members."
But Perry is determined to continue with Aerosmith, even if Tyler refuses to return.
He adds, "Right now I'm adjusting to how we're going to go on. Aerosmith is such a powerful band, I mean it's like a steam locomotive. You just can't disregard 40 years of four guys who play together as well as they do. We're just trying to - at least I am - trying to figure out what direction the band should take."
"As far as replacing Steve, it's not just about that, it's also four guys that play extremely well together, and I'm not going to see that go to waste. I really don't know what path it's going to take at this point, but we'll probably find somebody else that will sing in those spots where we need a singer and then we'll be able to move the Aerosmith up a notch, move the vibe up a notch." _________________ "Drugs are not the way to the light. I thought the same. And making this statement he's just accelerating the process of Steven's leaving. _________________ Cause you suffer from your sanity if you suffer for your art
I hope it doesn't end like this! Hopefully, they can get things worked out, finish the new record and do a monster tour with another great band (like the stones). They should go out in a blaze of glory and not collapse like this. After the tour, if they want to stop playing as a band so be it. They would like nothing left undone. The band won't be the same without Steven at lead vocals! We need five for this train to keep on rolling at light speed!
It is kind of funny when Joe was out recouperating from knee surgery...steven said nothing bad publically about Joe.
But when Steven was recouperating someone was twittering and handing our interviews like crazy --all mostly negative.
I would just like to know what makes Steven soo pissed off at the guys to end it like this....guess we are all witnesing history in the making and it will be in Steven's book to be released next spring 2010.

I honestly think egos and pride have now gotten in the way. Sad a bunch of 60 year old guys can't settle their differences without Joe airing their dirty laundry in public. I started out being mad at Steven for being an asshole but the more I look at it I see Joe as the jerk in all of this. Ack, they're probably both to blame but any way you look at it, there is no Aerosmith without Steven Tyler. Plain and simple. Who wants to hear Walk This Way or Dream On sung by anyone other than Steven?
Oh yeah, and someone tell Joe he can't f**king sing. _________________ ~*~Kim~*~

Steven has not quit yet. Has there been an article which has direct statements from ST JP TH JK or BW which clearly state "This band is over" or has steven come out and said "I never want to do aerosmith again". The answer... NO. Do the signs point in the direction of a split up? Yes.
Even Joe Perry (a big spokesman for Aero) said "he only knows what he read from a news reporter
But until Steven personally withdraws, I will not believe any of it. Steven obviously is not done with his career since he stated hes ready for Brand Tyler, so he wont disappear from the news... expect him to say something at some point. _________________ Life's ^^(A)^^ journey not a destination
no, it cant happen, it just cant!!! steven IS aerosmith. im sorry, but without him, i wont b the huge fan i am today. they can deffinately not break up. im really pissed at perry. god okay they cant make it on their own!!!! especially not now!!!! steven please dont leave ( it will break my heart into a million peices!!! worse come to worse, if he does ill follow steven because i love him . but they cant destroy the band, not after how far theyve gotton!!!! if they ever do come apart, i know theyll work things out. after all, theyre family. theyve been together forever. and if they did replace steven...then aerosmith will be no more _________________
