Joe sounded real down. I don't think it has set in yet, that Steven has really quit, and apparently he has or he would have clarified his statements by now.

So Joe said that he tried to reach Steven via cell phone about doing three shows in South America and Steven hung up 1/2 way through the conversation. He said that Steven just wants to do his own thing whatever that may be. Joe said as far as replacing Steven it would have to be something substantial and they would have to bring something to the table in order for it to work. Joe said he was happy to get Have guitar will travel done. And he is happy what he was able to put together. Jow plays the HOB in Boston this Saturday night.

My question..and so many others....obligation wise...can Steven "quit" with one last album still owed to Sony? Who exactly owns the rights now days to AEROSMITH.

This is sad! Sad indeed.

I guess they are sort of stunned by the news. I thought maybe Steven was just taking some time to do projects. However to hear that he hung up on Joe when he asked ST about 3 December concerts sort of makes me wonder what's up. It makes me somewhat sad. It's nice Joe thanked the fans. They also played Come Together by Aerosmith and then Long Way to Go by the Joe Perry Project. you can also rate the songs played

Your right Joe really did genuinely sound down and upset. I certainly don't agree with all of Joe's actions of late - the tweets and ST critism however i salute him for trying to keep us in the picture of whats going on.

I was extremely disappointed in what he said about the work on the new album - no new songs at all recorded, jsut bits and pieces. Considering the lack of material this decade, that was soooo disappointing to hear Crying or Very sad

Its time for ST to come out of hibernation and decide what he wants to do. I can't believe his silence on all of this.

Joe also said that he doesn't think Aerosmith is over, that they will probably get bored and get it back together.
And he apparently didn't know about Steven's Concord gig in January. He was like "Oh really? Well, maybe that's what he's gonna be doing then.." (paraphrasing here)
He does sound beat...alot going on for him, that's for sure.

Here I will say again that it is my firm believe they are not breaking up.
Nobody's "quitting". And that's that.
All they gotta do now is stop behaving like 60 year old kindergarten children and get together to have a proper conversation from eye to eye - without one hanging up on the other - and decide what they want to do next.
I'm well aware they can't wait for this to happen until they're 70, of course not, but it's probably going to take some time, maybe even a few months.
What do I know. I'm convinced they're not breaking up, though. My two cents.

And I thank Joe for thanking us for the support. Wink
He sounds down, so I'm glad for him he has his solo tour to keep him busy for a while, and then when Steven's done with his Concord thing in January, try it again. Whatever. Just stop the dirty rumour talk. It's slowly but surely getting old.

Wow that actually made me really sad to hear Joe like that. As far as whether it is over or not remains to be seen.

Just to bring up a point about Steven doing his own thing. Hasn't he been doing that for the past few years? He has been playing gigs with other musicians. He also has Red Wings motorcycles.

Anyway, Joe sounds really bummed. I guess Joe has become the spokesperson for the band at this point. That has got to be the crappiest role to have to take on. It isn't easy to give an interview and answer all those questions if you yourself do not have the answers to them. I think he did a good job.

WOW....Listening now.

Joe does sound bummed and I think this has to do with ST's lack of communicating and being with the guys all together. ST has not been in touch with anyone and neither has his management. Joe mentions maybe they will get a "telegram" from him or his people about what is going on. He even mentioned ST also pretty much for ALL the gigs, kept to himself and did NOT travel or interact with the rest of the band. He stayed with "his own band of people".

Joe also said ST has DONE NOTHING with the new CD! Only stuff of his is the OLD stuff and what he and the others worked on...WTF?

And Joe even admits with a NEW singer...it would not BE AEROSMITH...not the one we ALL know. And a new singer would need to be special.

Joe has also said that the last four Aerosmith albums were going to sound like Rocks...

Just sayin...Here's a grain of salt.

I cannot connect ST quitting to a remark about a solo project. Joe has said over and over again he was touring through Spring 2010 with the JPP , so in the big picture what has changed?

I feel it is a knee jerk to assume ST has quit the band for good. BUT if he has, then a statement would be appropriate. Leaving his bandmates and fans to draw their own conclusions at this juncture is uncalled for.

JP sounded a bit down. I give you that, but after all he has said, I wonder what reaction from Steven he was expecting? It might be ST was genuinely hurt by HIS smear campaign? Or perhaps ST has gone off his trolley Confused The band on the whole deserves better than this . SO DO THE FANS.

I understood the silence up to now. There is just too much sh*t flyin out there . Some clarification is the least ST can do
